Meet the Founder - Pleased to meet you!
It was the passion for creating cohesive spaces and love for storytelling through décor that led Libby Braden to found Renata Home. A unique retail business in the iconic outback location, Longreach Qld.
After living and travelling overseas, Libby studied a Bachelor of Education at the University of Southern Queensland and began her career as a Primary Teacher in a small country school. A rural lifestyle has always been an essential source of quality of life for Libby which stems from her idyllic childhood spent on the agricultural lands of Inglewood Qld.
When travelling the world, Libby was completely captivated and mesmerised entirely by the carefully curated homewares that set the scene around her, dreaming of bringing these pieces back home. The calmness that soft textiles offer, antiques with rich wooden scents, ceramics and flickering candles that complete the finishing aesthetics of a space. Libby’s love of interiors sparked a dream to own her own homewares shop, too endeavouring not to pursue.
When Libby isn’t working, she enjoys the peaceful serenity of the sheep property where she resides, with her partner Charlie and dog, Milo, in tow. With a deep respect for interior pieces, Libby took great joy in making the leap in sharing unique homewares and décor through Renata Home.

Our Inspiration
Gentle, resilient and largely loved describes Renata, our inspiration, brand name and beloved Grandmother. Renata was surrounded by thriving vineyards, meandering rivers and charming villages, a picturesque tapestry that told a story of nature’s beauty and connection to the land, in Treviso, Italy.
Despite this beauty and rich culture, Renata faced her fair share of hardship in life which followed her after sailing to Australia, young and foreign, landing only just before World War II erupted. Renata was our warrior and the one thing she held close to her heart was offering a hospitable home where hearts were full and her favourite crockery oozing the crucial ingredient, love.
Renata
Like two peas in a pod, like bread and butter, Libby and her Grandmother, Renata, shared a special bond. Renata’s tradition was to host meals, the table with no space to spare, set to entertain. Plates, platters, signature tablecloths handed down with a story to tell, authentic utensils all added to the mis matched server ware. Renata would create a feasting masterpiece, everyone eager to indulge and the divine aromas would connect culture and significance. Al dente pasta was her crowd favourite and speciality and would always be prepared in her very memorable and well worn, vintage, Jasmin branded and green anodised saucepans. Renata’s signature saucepans are now passed down and carry on a beautiful tradition. They are a sentimental homeware that evokes nostalgia and fond memories.
Home
Our homes wouldn’t be complete without the people and things that we love to elicit uniqueness, warmth and hospitality. We believe that homewares with aesthetic appeal, cultural significance and unique craftmanship that with each layer added, curates a story and generates a sense of everlasting joy and happiness.
